I’m Nathalie Van Campenhout, founder of Soulika Studio.

After many years focused primarily on my family while also being involved in real estate management, I decided to take a different direction and follow a long standing interest in art and conservation.

What I enjoy about restoration is getting to know the object beyond what we see at first, how it was made, the materials that were used, how it has aged and what it needs to be preserved. Today, I work as a conservator restorer while continuing my training at KASKA DKO in Antwerp, Belgium. Each work that comes into my studio is different, and I approach it with the same care, curiosity and respect for what is already there.

India has gradually become part of this journey. My regular stays there have led to friendships, encounters with local makers and a growing interest in Indian art and painted heritage. I also select a small number of handmade pieces to bring back to Belgium, things I discover there, genuinely like and would choose for myself.

For me, Soulika Studio is where these different interests come together, preserving what already exists, appreciating how things are made, and giving well made objects a life beyond the place where I found them.
